Aberdeenshire welcome back Harsha Cooray for 2014, and extend a warm welcome to Hayes Van Der Berg who will join as amateur.

Aberdeenshire cricket club are delighted to announce that Harsha Cooray will be returning for a third summer at Mannofield.

Cooray was in inspirational form with both bat and ball last season and was a major force in the 1st XI finishing in second place in the Eastern Premier League.

Harsha amassed 820 runs at an average of 63.8 which included three centuries and four half centuries. He was equally as effective with the ball, capturing 34 wickets at an average of 14.3.

Harsha also made a great impact off the field and our junior cricket section will be boosted by his presence once again.

Harsha will be joined by Hayes van der Berg, a 19 year old all rounder from Cape Town. Hayes toured India with South Africa U-19s in September 2013 and is a member of the Western Province U-19 squad.

He is a prolific run scorer at South African school boy level and has played over 150 matches for the famous Rondebosch Boys High School which can boast Gary Kirsten and Jonathan Trott amongst it's alumni. In 2013 Hayes was an integral part of the side which won the T20 "Coke Week" Schools Challenge trophy.
