Rubislaw (Artificial pitch)
Under glorious sunny skies AGSFP's won the toss and asked Mannofield to bat first.
The going was tough for most of the Manno's batsmen, Clark and Indy opened the innings.
Clark was first off the mark and first back in the hutch mis-timing a leg stump half volley straight in the air.
This brought Sandy Richards (46 not out) on debut to the crease who would go on to play a wonderful anchor role to guide the team through to complete our 45 over innings.
There were other notable contributions from Stuart Horne (23), Calum Herd (14) and Steve Elliott (11 not out).
Unfortunately no other batsmen was able to reach double figures and help Sandy push the score on, however a total of 147 was more than we hoped for after a major mid innings collapse.
Early in roads were required by Mannofield to put the pressure on AGSFP's incoming batsmen to keep us in the hunt.
Michael Elliott and Chris Van De Merwe also on debut opened the bowling, Michael was first to strike removing the home skipper with just 6 to his name.
Runs were coming a little too easy for the home side with Michael unable to keep any part of his size 12's behind the line!
A bowling change brought new hope for the visitors with Lewis Munro taking two wickets in consecutive balls. The first saw him find the outside edge that flew to Indy to take a fantastic catch in the gulley, the second was another incredible catch this time by Calum Herd behind the stumps.
Stuart replaced Michael who immediately stemmed the flow of runs from one end reeling off 5 maidens in a row, he also picked up 2 wickets along the way to keep the visitors in the game.
However it was not to be our day with Grammar eventually over-hauling our score in the 32 over.
It was a good all round performance from the guys who kept going till the end.
It could have been a different story if the major run contributor for Grammer had walked when smashing the cover off the ball...
