Disappointing loss

Mannofield won the toss and inserted the visitors.
Rory Martin and Michael Elliott opened the bowling and wickets started to fall at fairly regular intervals to give the home side hope of a first win.
However with any leg side delivery being adjudged a wide the Extras column was rising at a rapid rate..
The fielding side also managed to drop a few catches which can sometimes be the deciding factor in these games.
That being said some tidy bowling from Lewis Munro (1 - 26) and Stuart Horne (4 -20) saw the visitors at one point struggling at 117 -7.
There was a crucial partnership for the 9th wicket that saw Knightriders post a total of 211 - 8.
The top batsmen for Knightriders scored 31 runs, extras total was 69 including 52 wides, no prizes for guessing what needs to be worked on in the nets this week..

211 was still very much an achievable target although it would require a few partnerships along the way.
Unfortunately for the home side wickets fell regularly until a partnership developed between Indy Yahathugoda(46) and Stuart Horne (33).
When Indy was run out (via his "runner" Clark Cameron) and Stuart followed shortly after, the Mannofield innings lost momentum.
Some lower order hitting by Rory Martin and Michael Elliott allowed a few more batting points to be reached before the Mannofield innings closed on 173 all out.

To look on the bright side we managed to pick up 17 points in a losing effort, wins will surely come for this team and we will try again next week against Lahore Karahi.
