The Old and the young combined to take on league leaders Bon Accord.
The game was switched to Kintore due to the risk of further seismic activity swallowing anyone foolish enough to tread on the unstable area at Harlaw
The Kintore ground was shared with a family fun day complete with booming music, bouncy castles and the Red arrows!
Given the razzmatazz of the fun day and the opposition made up of mainly sub continent players the game had a feeling of an IPL T20..(and lasted about as long!)
Mannofield won the toss and decided to bat first.
With 3 over 50's and 7 under 21 and Indy stuck in the New Delhi traffic, Mannofields batting line up had a youthful look to it mixed with some valuable experience.
With the music blaring the openers were clearly confused by listening to Lionel Ritchie's "can't slow down" resulting in Gav being run out .
Mannofield desperately needed partnerships to build a decent score, however wickets kept falling at regular intervals meaning that the "home" side could only muster a mere 114 all out.
Natesh Shivakumar (29), Lewis Munro (23) and Nathan Elliott (15) were the only batters along with Michael Elliott (7 not out) that batted with any assurance. It was the only positive of the day that the 4 youngsters occupied the crease and showed real promise for the future.
Lewis again batted well and made it into the 20's, when he learns to build on these good starts I am sure he will turn 20's into very big scores..
It was always going to be tough against a vaunted batting line up, it would be crucial that the bowlers put the ball in the correct areas, however all bowlers were guilty of bowling too short and the Bon Accord openers dispatched them with ease.
A total of 10 sixes were hit in under 10 overs which pretty much sums up the bowling, the sky sports pitch map would not have been a pretty picture for the purists and much work is needed from the team of bowling coaches this week in training.
