Dropped!

Mannofield won the toss and asked Academy to bat first.
Academy got off to a steady start against the opening pair of Michael and Indy.
The introduction of spin produced the breakthrough but not before Chundi had reached his 50.
The two spinners Findlay (1 for 40 off 10) and Stuart (4 for 23 off10) were bowling well together and it was Stuart who trapped Chundi in front for exactly 50.
Stuart picked up 3 more wickets one via a super catch from Findlay and then Findlay himself picked up his wicket via a juggling catch by Clark.
Academy’s other opener Kache was marching toward a well constructed century helped along the way by 3 dropped catches! In total if you include some tough caught and bowled chances Mannofield dropped 10 catches.
Kache was eventually out off the last ball of the innings for 109 and Academy had posted 217 for 6.

Mannofields reply got off to the worst start when Clark was bowled in the first over. This brought Stuart (67) and Indy (60) together and the pair batted superbly and put on 90 for the second wicket.
Indy played some great shots and was unlucky to hit a long hop straight at a fielder.
Natesh (31) gave Stuart valuable support and the pair added a further 71 runs before Stuart was again unlucky to find a fielder from a bad ball.
From this point the wheels well and truly came off and 161 for 2 became 175 all out. It was a hard defeat to take after being in such a commanding position.
It is plainly obvious to everyone involved that it is very difficult to win a cricket match if you fail to take 10 chances that your bowlers create and it doesn’t help if batters 5 through 11 contribute only 6 runs between them.
Academy took 3 crucial catches (and dropped none) which ultimately won them the game.

How different it may have been if an experienced second team player could have come in in the middle order to help get the team over the finish line...
