Aberdeenshire Cricket Club is the North East of Scotland’s premier cricket club with four senior teams and five junior teams, we provide a friendly and diverse cricket club that caters for all ages and abilities. Since the inception of the Scottish National League in 1998 Aberdeenshire have been a leading club, crowned National League champions and Scottish Cup winners in 2009 we continue to compete at the highest level possible in Scottish Cricket, finishing 2nd in last year’s national league.
Aberdeenshire have a thriving junior section and provide coaching to 80-100 children on a weekly basis across our club coaching sessions and local school visits to Broomhill and Mile End schools. Our junior team’s compete locally from introductory softball “kwik cricket” aimed at boys and girls from 6-10 year olds through u11, u13, u15 and u17 levels.
Aberdeenshire view "Kwik cricket" as the ideal way to introduction children to cricket. The game is designed to be all inclusive as every player has an equal opportunity to participate in the game, all batting, bowling and fielding.
We commit a significant amount of resource to our coaching program and in 2014 we are seeking support from local businesses to enable us to expand our local school’s development program culminating in an inter-school festival day for the local schools we are able to visit and the children we have introduced to cricket.
We are offering local businesses the opportunity to purchase an advertising board which will be positioned prominently around our ground for £500 which covers the cost of manufacture and printing of the board.
2014 will see our ground play host to our first ever Sky Sports televised match as Scotland host England in a full one day international match on May 9th
Below are some examples of current boards at our ground and prominent locations which still remain around the boundary edge:
