PREPERATIONS AND PLANNING THE RETURN

Aberdeenshire CC is pleased to announce that it is preparing Mannofield’s 1st Class ground facilities for the resumption of cricket practice and coaching on Monday 29th June based on guidance from the Scottish Government and Cricket Scotland.

Our new Groundsman Calum Howard has completed the normal pre and early season ground works and Mannofield is looking in fantastic condition – every inch a first-class ground, as can be seen in these recent photos.

It is our intention to provide Nets and practice facilities from 29th June this will initially be one net session with members of your household and/or members of two other households per day (maximum 8 persons), as guidance directs we envisage moving to small group training and local games.

1. Net and Practice Facilities at Mannofield

These facilities will be 2 x Astro nets and also an on square net which will be maintained in match condition and rotated when required. Although the covers will be used the final decision on the fitness of the square for use will be at the sole discretion of the Groundsman. In addition we will also look at providing a specific fielding practice area with backing net.

2. Booking Practice Facilities

The nets are free to book and use for Club members (unfortunately no guests are permitted). However, it is a strict requirement of the club’s insurance policy - all participants must be paid up members for the current season.
The membership rates for the 2019-20 season are:

  • Full Playing - £60
  • Student Playing - £30
  • Junior (Under 16) - £20

Members should log into their account on the club’s website and select the relevant membership product on the Shop tab.

When making a booking you will always need to provide specific information on who is using the nets as well as confirming all members in the booking are free from symptoms of Covid-19.

We have made the booking system as straightforward as possible. The system has been set up so that:

  • Members can book one, 50-minute session per day (Monday to Thursday)
  • Members can book a net session up to fourteen days in advance

We request members only book one session per week. We will review this on a weekly basis but with limited nets we need to ensure that all members have the chance to use them.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions the bowling machine will not be available for general use but may be an option for specific coaching sessions operated by Coach Dan Sutton.

We know that many players will be keen to get back in to the nets as quickly as possible, however it is vital you respect the net booking T&Cs set out below so we can all continue to make use of the facilities. Any breach of the guidelines will unfortunately result in the member being denied access to the net facilities.

3. Cricketers from other Clubs

The Aberdeenshire Cricket and Management Committees are keen to be able to open up the use of our fantastic practice facilities to any Cricketers in the wider cricket community who want to train and practice this summer. Aberdeenshire is committed to play a leading role in helping to develop the game in Aberdeenshire, and encourage players to remain enthusiastic about the return of Cricket - even if there is no actual match play this season.

The arrangements for members of other clubs to make use of Mannofield would be the exactly the same as for our current playing members, the only requirement is that they must first register a membership account on the website and take out an Associate Playing Membership for this season.

  • Associate Playing Member - £60
  • Associate Student Playing - £30
  • Associate Junior (Under 16) - £20

4. Club Coach Daniel

Daniel, our ECB qualified Level 3 coach, has already delivered an extremely successful indoor winter coaching program for both Junior and Snr members in preparation for this season. We would like this to continue as soon as possible outdoors at Mannofield. Daniel will therefore have access to ground / Net facilities and will be able to offer specific high quality 1:1 coaching to any members wanting to work on improving and developing any part of their game.

Booking a specific coaching session with Daniel will be by separate arrangement and not through the Club website booking system. For more information and to book a coaching session please go to http://suttoncoaching.co.uk/ or call Dan on 07555965043.
