There are just over 3 weeks now till the one-off Bradman themed Dinner at The Leonardo Hotel on 25th November. The dinner is a partnership between the club and all other cricket clubs in the North east of Scotland. Ticket sales are going well and the hotel requires initial indicative numbers by the middle of next week.
We are delighted to advise that the guest speaker at the dinner will be Phil Yelland. Phil was President of Cricket Scotland albeit for a short period of time (April till July 2022 when, along with the rest of the main board he resigned on the day the report on racism in Cricket Scotland was published).
Cricketing wise he has played for Murrayfield Dafs CC in Edinburgh since 1972 where he is currently Club President and is also actively involved in growing their thriving youth section. He joined the East of Scotland Cricket Association Committee in the 1980's and rejoined again in 2012 serving as President between 2014-16.
Prior to retirement in 2020 he was Executive Director of Regulation with the Law Society of Scotland and his legal background was used to great effect as part of the Cricket Scotland task force that reviewed the disciplinary procedures that currently operate throughout the game in Scotland.
We are sure you would find Phil a most interesting and entertaining speaker, along with a range of themed Bradman items on display and for sale on the night (including hopefully specially distilled Bradman Gin) the Bradman foundation has provided photos and a dedicated video for the occasion, an excellent evening should be had by all.
Please use events@aberdeenshirecc.org.uk e-mail to advise of your intention to attend the evening or to request any further information. Details of payment will then be provided.
The Committee do hope you and your friends will be able to join us for what hopefully will be a most entertaining and indeed unique evening.
