Michael Leask joins the Shire

Aberdeen’s Own, Mannofield’s Newest.

It’s official. Michael Leask is a Shire player.

Ahead of our return to the Eastern Premier League in 2027, the club is delighted to confirm the signing of Scotland all-rounder Michael Leask for next season.

Michael is an Aberdeen boy who has gone on to play international cricket for Scotland, and he’s one of the cleanest ball-strikers in the European game. If you want proof, go back to May 2014, when he smashed 42 off just 16 balls against England. He’s since added an ODI century to his name, and he’s the only Scot to complete the ODI double of over 1,000 runs and over 50 wickets.

It’s also a great boost for the juniors. Having a player of Michael’s calibre at Mannofield gives our young cricketers someone to watch and learn from, and there’s nothing better for the next generation than seeing the standard they’re aiming for up close.

Welcome back to Aberdeen, Leasky. We can’t wait to see you in the Aberdeenshire colours
