Long Serving Treasurer, John Shipley, has advised of his upcoming retirement and we are now on the hunt for a new Treasurer.

Back in January 2020, the Club Treasurer, John Shipley, informed the Committee that after more than 30 years in the position, he was to retire as of 31 March 2021. Unfortunately, due to family circumstances, he advised the Committee at the end of June, that he wished to bring forward his retirement 6 months to 30 September 2020.

Despite several attempts to find a replacement, no suitable candidate has been found.
The position of Club Treasure requires certain essential skills and the ideal candidate must have the following:

1. A sound knowledge of accounting and good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and VAT.
2. A sound working knowledge of Sage 50 Payroll.
3. A sound working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts

John has reluctantly agreed to remain in office until the end of October to see out the Job Retention Scheme for furloughed employees and complete and submit the September Quarters VAT Return, due at the end of October.

As time is short to find a replacement for John, the Committee is therefore appealing to any member who themselves, or know of someone who, would be willing to take on the role of Club Treasurer. It may be the case that the position requires more than one person to take it forward. If you know of anyone who might be interested, please contact the Club Secretary on the following number 07725 774036 or by e-mail at david.tait@aberdeenshirecc.org.uk.
