Manu Saraswat has been called up as an injury replacement to the Scotland Squad for the Under 19 World Cup starting on Saturday.

Congratulations and good luck to 16 year old Manu who was called up as an injury replacement to the Scotland Squad for the Under 19 World Cup last week and flew out to South Africa yesterday.

Manu has become an important member of our 1st team over the last couple of seasons as an off spinning allrounder. He batted at number 3 in the order for the majority of the 2023 season and has scored 368 league runs and taken 23 wickets over the last 2 seasons

He has been a regular member of Regional and National Performance squads over the last few years but his hard work, determination and ultimately talent has led to this fantastic opportunity to travel to a under 19 World Cup at such a tender age following a winter of travelling to Edinburgh most weekends to train with the Under 19 squad.

Manu had this to say before jetting off to South Africa:
"I am very excited to have the opportunity to play against the best u19 cricketers in the world and to have the experience of what international professional cricket is like. I am really grateful to all my coaches and teammates at Aberdeenshire CC who have helped and supported me on this journey. I am hoping this is just the start though!!"

The ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup gets underway on Friday 19th, with Scotland starting their Group B campaign on Saturday 20th against the Auld Enemy, England. They then take on the West Indies on Wednesday 24th, and conclude the group stage of the tournament against hosts South Africa on Saturday 27th.

The first 2 of these games will be shown on the Sky Sports Mix channel so you will be able to keep an eye on Manu and Scotland's progress there.
