Every club has its chapters. Some are written in the good years, and some in the years that nearly, almost, so nearly got there.
For six years, Kenny Reid and Lewis Munro carried the Shire through all of it. The ups. The downs. The so close yet so far. And somewhere in the quiet, the question must have crept in: will it ever really happen?
It did.
Our own Lennon and McCartney, one in the dressing room, one in the director’s chair, a partnership that made the whole club sing. Never in the field of Scottish cricket was so much owed by so many to so two.
It did. Hard work and determination outlast everything else, and as Director of Cricket and First XI Captain, they did what we all privately wondered was impossible. They guided us home to the EPL.
Both are stepping back from their roles, but not from the Shire. They’ll still be driving forces in our playing sides next season, which we’re very glad to hear.
Thank you, Reidza. Thank you, Lewis, We are forever in your debt.
