Aberdeenshire Cricket Club are delighted to announce the award of a £9550 grant from The National Lottery Community Fund and is grateful to The National Lottery Community Fund for its generous support. With the help of your grant, we are in the process of redecorating and refurbishing our function room: The Bradman Suite.
We use this for a number of functions every week; it is used regularly to serve the community as a meeting place for a variety of groups: An Alzheimer group, Regular Discos for disability groups, local Probus meetings for women and men and their committees, Stroke Association and National Trust. In addition, this has been the location of meetings and training classes for cricketers and officials from all-over North-East Scotland.
The National Lottery Community Fund, Scotland Chair, Kate Still: said: “National Lottery funding can make amazing things happen in local communities across the country. This project delivered by Aberdeenshire Cricket Club, is a great example of community activity in action, showing just what can be achieved when people come together for a common cause or to help others.
“National Lottery players can be proud to know that the money they raise is helping to support this vital work which is making a real difference to so many.”
Our club is determined to expand its role in the local community and play a full part, providing useful resources when possible. Recent in-house fundraising has allowed us to provide a defibrillator, which will be placed outside the clubhouse building for community use.
We are committed to increasing the ways in which we serve our city and thank The National Lottery Community Fund for its generosity, made possible by National Lottery players in allowing us to improve our premises, which we hope will further serve as a community hub!
