Aberdeenshire won the toss and decided to bowl first on a firm but slightly green pitch. In bright and blustery conditions Tyler Buchan and Daya Singh bowled a tight opening spell, with Singh making the breakthrough in the 8th over trapping visiting captain Hopcroft in front with the score on 8.

McKenna & Neill replaced the openers both striking quickly to reduce the visitors to 58/3 with the dangerous Watson being dismissed early in his innings.

Greaves (48*) was proving the mainstay of the of the Glenrothes innings quietly accumulating while wickets continued to tumble around him. A run out from Venske and an LBW for Cooray after drinks brought the score to 72/5, and worse was yet to come for the travelling side.

Venske struck twice in his opening over picking up two LBW's in consecutive deliveries, clean bowling another soon after to finish with figures of 3-11.

Singh returned to clean up the tail and finish with 3-20 from eight overs as Aberdeenshire dismissed Glenrothes for 94 after 35.5 overs.

Howard and Venske opened for the Dons and started brightly before Howard (6) chased a slightly wide delivery nicking one through to keeper Davies.

Tomlinson (15) joined the free scoring Venske (62* from 59 balls) and the pair quickly added 80 to take the Dons to the brink of victory at 91/2 before Tomlinson fell LBW to Khan. Venske dominated the Shire innings punishing the bad ball, striking two effortless sixes, eight boundaries and fittingly stroking the winning runs.
