Aberdeenshire recorded a convincing victory on Saturday when Grange visited Mannofield. Heavy overnight dew had left the wicket damp in places, so Tyler Buchan had no hesitation on asking the visitors to bat in overcast conditions.
That decision proved to be a good one as the bowl swung prodigiously in the opening overs. Aberdeenshire struck second ball, as Tomlinson brilliant dismissed Munsey with a direct hit run out without a run on the board. Buchan and Daya Singh both struck in their opening spell, inducing edges behind to Kenny Reid, leaving the visitors on 21-3 off 13 overs.
The introduction of Adrian Neill (6 overs 1-20) and Rory Martin (7 overs 2-14) provided further returns for the Dons as the dangerous McCallum & Goudie were both dismissed early in their innings.
At 43-6 Grange still possessed the ability to post a decent score with Ex-Scotland players Simon Smith and Gregor Maiden still to bat, however Daya Singh returned to pick up a further three wickets, including top scorer Josh Edwards, to skittle the visitors for 96.
In reply the Dons made a controlled start, moving the score onto 12 before Calum Howard turned one to midwicket and was sent back after attempting a tight single. 12-1 quickly become 19-2 as Kenny Reid was well caught at short extra cover by McCallum off the bowling of Routray.
This brought home pro Harsha Cooray (55*) together with Graeme Tomlinson (24*) and the pair added 78 runs with minimal fuss to ease the Dons over the line in the 24th over. Harsha making batting look easy on a day when many others seemed to struggle.
