Aberdeenshire completed the double over Carlton for the second consecutive season as they win by 8 wickets at a drizzly Mannofield.

Aberdeenhsire won the toss and bowled first at a showery Mannofield. They were immediately rewarded as Tyler Buchan struck in the first over, having Scotland international Hamish Gardiner caught behind for 6. Buchan and Hayes van der Berg kept things very tight early on conceding only 24 runs from the opening ten overs and when Buchan struck again, to remove another Scotland international, by clean bowling Preston Mommsen for 3 Aberdeenshire took control of the match.

Ali Evans was filling in as a makeshift opener and made 32 however the introduction of Cooray was to be his downfall, the tall opening bowler clean bowled first ball of Harsha's spell.

Worse was to follow for Carlton as two run outs and a first ball stumping of Boyd game either side of drinks to leave the visitors in trouble at 87-5.

Fraser Watts, Scotland's most capped player, was playing a lone hand for the visitors as he moved effortlessly to 40* however he wasn't provided the required support as Cooray (3-33) and Buchan (4-35) cleaned up the tail to close the innings on 158 from only 38.1 overs.

Aberdeenshire made a positive start to in reply as Chris Venske (42) and Calum Howard (27) combined well once again to add 76 for the first wicket before Venske inexplicably ran himself out looking for a second that wasn't there.

Howard was caught at second slip soon after, and with the rain beginning to fall the Dons had one eye on the D/L calculations.

Harsha Cooray 34* and Hayes van der Berg 37* didn't waste any time in chasing down the required runs as the pair found the boundary at regular intervals to close the game out and take the Dons to an eight wicket victory in the 32nd over.
