Calum Howard produced a man of the match performance to put the Dons into round two of the Scottish Cup

Aberdeenshire lost the toss and were asked to bowl first on a decent looking wicket under sunny skies.

Calum Howard and Fraser Proud shared the new ball in a new look opening bowling partnership, and it wasn't long before Howard struck taking a wicket in his second over. Howard starred with the ball taking 3-20 from seven overs.

West Lothians innings suffered loss of wickets at regular intervals with only captain and overseas player Denby (23) putting up any resistance. The home side were dismissed for 72 in the 18th over.

Bowling honours were shared around with all bowlers taking at least one wicket.

Venske (22) and Howard (32*) opened the batting and made light work of the total, Venske falling to a juggled catch at slip for 22, Reid came and went for a brisk 10 and Howard was left to hit the winning runs in the thirteenth over.

Aberdeenshrie will face Stirling County at home in the next round of the cup on the 1st of June.
